Daniel Bækkegård is a 23-year-old professionel triathlete. 2019 was Daniel’s first year as a professionel triathlete. Despite his young age and inexperience on the full distance he manage to take the sport by storm. First when he won the legendary Ironman Austria-Kärnsten and latest when he secured second place at Ironman 70.3 Middle Eastern Championship in Bahrain with the 3rd fastest time on the distance ever.
Daniel grew up in a small village in Denmark and started his education as an athlete early when he joined the local swimming team. Daniel has 20 medals from the Danish Junior Championships in swimming. His goal of participating at the Olympic Games was ruined by a shoulder injury which meant that Daniel had to find alternative ways to keep himself in shape. This is what started his passion for biking and swimming.
Since then the goal has been clear. Daniel wants to be the best triathlete in the world.
